Privacy

Last changed 2026-09-23. Dusklin is a product name used by OdileUSA L.L.C., a Florida company. This page says who is responsible for what, what we keep, for how long, where, and your rights.

Two roles

When the receptionist answers calls for a business, the business is the controller of its callers' data and we are its processor: we handle callers' details only on the business's instructions, under processing terms that meet Article 28 of the UK and EU GDPR, sent to every business before its line goes live. For our own dealings with the business, its account, billing, correspondence and this website, we are the controller.

Callers, when we answer for a business

We receive the caller's phone number where the network shows it, the audio and a transcript of the conversation, and any name, callback number, message or appointment the caller gives. The business uses that to read what its callers wanted; the basis is the business's contract with its customers and its legitimate interest in answering its own phone, and callers hear at the start of the call that they are talking to an AI and that the call is transcribed. Kept: call records, audio and transcripts for 90 days; the messages themselves for up to twelve months; then deleted. A business can ask us to delete its records sooner. Callers to a clinic or practice may mention their health; the practice decides whether to let the receptionist take such details, and we process them only on its instruction.

Who processes it for us

Our hosting provider stores the records. Our speech provider keeps the audio and transcript for 90 days so the business can listen back in its console. Our telephony provider keeps the call's numbers and times as carriers do. Our payment processor keeps what it needs to bill; we never see a card number. None of them may use the data for anything else.

Where the data goes

We are in the United States and our systems run there, so data about businesses and their callers in the UK, Ireland and the EU is transferred to the United States. For UK businesses we sign the ICO's International Data Transfer Addendum, and for EU businesses the EU standard contractual clauses, as part of the processing terms before the line goes live; our own providers are bound by the same clauses. Ask and we send you the documents.

Businesses that buy or write to us

We keep your name, email, business name, phone number, billing address, VAT number and what you told us, to set the receptionist up, to answer you and to bill you (basis: our contract with you). Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires; the rest for the life of your account and twelve months after, then deleted. Buying or writing to us does not put you on any mailing list. The only marketing email we send is a first, individually written note to businesses whose work address is public, with a way to say stop that we honour; it does not go to anyone who has asked us not to write.

This website and the demo

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our host keeps standard server logs for security. The browser demo is scripted and sends nothing anywhere; nothing you type in it leaves your browser.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data and we do not use call transcripts or customer data to train models. No advertiser receives customer records, transcripts, caller numbers or message contents.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, take it with you in a usable form, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw any consent you gave. Callers to a business should ask that business first, as its controller; we help it answer. You can complain to your data-protection authority, the ICO in the UK. Write to hello@odilelabs.com. We usually answer within a day or two, and never later than 30 days.

Children

Our products are sold to businesses and are not directed at anyone under 18.
